We encourage you to join us and offer six ways you can help:
The shark conservation movement requires informed, intelligent advocates and if you are reading this WE MEAN YOU! Take the time to find out why sharks are disappearing from our oceans. Try to understand the commercial fishing industry and what constitutes bycatch. Get in the water and observe sharks in their natural habitat. Get to know them and the issues they face, and you will become a better champion of sharks. Want to test how much you think you know about shark conservation? Start with the Shark Defenders Quiz.
Now that you have educated yourself about the global status of shark conservation you are ready to go out in the world and advocate on their behalf. Start by following Shark Defenders on Facebook and Twitter and joining our Email list. This is the best way for us to contact you when your help is needed to organize the community around changing specific laws and regulations. And depending on where you live, we may ask you to attend public hearings or help out at community events.
You can help us reach out to more and more people by growing our online network of shark conservationists. In addition to sharing, retweeting and pinning, you can collect signatures on the attached Shark Defenders Pledge Petition and mail the completed forms back to us. The names will be added to our email list. If you collect 1000 signatures with emails, we will allow you to manage your own chapter of Shark Defenders with a Facebook Page for your school or in your town, state, or island. You can also Help Shark Stanley.
We are constantly in need of high-quality photographs. If you are a professional or an amateur who takes professional quality photos, please email us at email@example.com.
Shark Defenders accepts guest blogs from writers looking for a global platform. If you are interested in writing, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. In particular we are looking for people who work with sharks, study sharks, or are involved in shark conservation.
Shark Defenders is not a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, but most of our coalition partners are. We encourage you to support them with a monetary donation.
